Press "L" (or click on the picture) for a bigger view on black. I've been wanting to get a decent fall-color-sunset/sunrise here in Napa for a while now. I've been driving around scouting locations, looking through other people's work here in Flickr, and using online tools. So far, this spot looks promising. Easy to get to, nice contours on the hills, can be shot in sunrise or sunset. Unfortunately, it is also popular. While I was taking this, there's a workshop going on to my left, there's a car that stopped in the middle of the road behind me while the passenger stuck her camera out the window, and other "drive-by shooters". But I'll be back. It's really a nice drive even if the conditions are not "right" for the shot I'm after. To get the details on the vines and retain the sun's rays and a bit of the blue sky, I did an HDR. Exposure fusion is still my preferred method. Thanks for dropping by!
