The grape vines look so naked this time of year. They are so empty. Seems unusual looking to me. In no time at all they’ll be full of big leaves. But now it’s cool to see the snow covered mountains. Although we’ve had weeks of very warm sunny weather with no rain/snow for about 5 weeks, the snow persists on the local mountain tops.
When you drive (or fly) around here this is the kind of scenery you see this time of year. But capturing just the right composition to show the interesting agricultural rows as well as snowy peaks took a lot of work. I’m happy with this composition, it took a quite a bit of ‘doing’ but I feel like this one captured the winter scene here just right, particularly the nakedness of the grapevines. I’ve passed this area so many times admiring the scenery but I finally stopped to get the photo.
