Quick test | FIFA 19 (Demo) – Wine Staging 3.19 (esync) + DXVK

Tested on Arch Linux with Nvidia proprietary drivers (396.54.09), Wine Staging 3.19 (esync) and DXVK (43ed820). Recorded at 1080p with OBS (NVENC).

Game’s launcher requires “.NET Framework 4.x” (a cool guy made an installer for Lutris, link below in the description).

Had to hook “koku-xinput-wine” for gamepad vibration.

Error messages:

“The .Net Framework redistributable package was not installed successfully. Setup cannot continue. (false)”, can be fixed replacing the file “dotNetFx40_Client_x86_x64.exe” (located in “drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Origin Games/FIFA 19 DEMO/__Installer/dotnet/dotnet4client/redist”) with another installer (even a fake one, which does not necessarily install anything).

“Detect nvidia geforce driver version 337.88…”, can be fixed disabling “nvapi” DLLs in winecfg.

“Too many computers have accessed this account’s version of DisplayName field missing from registry. recently. Please try again later.”, if it eventually occurs, reinstalling the whole thing is a huge a waste of time, as this message is probably due to the DRM implemented in the game and not to Origin itself. What you can really do at that point is waiting 24 hours (or more) or login with another account.

Personal notes:

Quick test, because I have not been able to find a fix for the “black field” glitch (it also affects trees and bushes). For this purpose, I have tried to HEX editing a decrypted “initfs_Win32” (link below in the description) as an attempt to fix that bug, sadly with no luck:

Make a symlink (for Demo users): $ ln -s “~/Documents/FIFA 19 Demo” “~/Documents/FIFA 19”

Replace “initfs_Win32” (decrypted) in “drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Origin Games/FIFA 19 DEMO/Data”

Replace “amd_ags_x64.dll” (*) and “AnselSDK64_org.dll” in “drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Origin Games/FIFA 19 DEMO/”

(*) Alternatively, you can keep the original “amd_ags_x64.dll”, rename the fake “amd_ags_x64.dll” to “AnselSDK64.dll”, and manually inject the library at every game launch (Cheat Engine as DLL injector could be a good choice).
