Three Dots and a Dash tiki cocktail from Better Cocktails at Home

In this video, I show you how to make one of my favorite tiki cocktails, the Three Dots and a Dash. This WWII era drink was created by Don the Beachcomber. Donn Beach fought in WWII and the name of this drink comes from Morse Code for the letter “v,” for victory. You can find this drink published in the excellent Sippin’ Safari by Jeff “Beachbum” Berry.

Three Dots and a Dash

1.5oz Martinique rum
.5oz Demerara rum
.5oz lime juice
.5oz orange juice
.5oz honey syrup
.25oz falernum
.25oz allspice dram
1 dash Angostura bitters

Fine strain the citrus juice into your cocktail shaker. Add the rest of the ingredients and ice. Shake like you mean business and pour unstrained into your glass. Garnish with three cherries and a pineapple spear.
