Brooklyn cocktail from Better Cocktails at Home

If you’re in Europe, making a Brooklyn cocktail is easy. If you’re in America, not so much. One of the ingredients, Amer Picon isn’t imported into the United States, though there are a number of good substitutes now on the market. This is a good rye whiskey cocktail, but not great.


1.5oz rye whiskey (Rittenhouse bottled in bond)
.5oz dry vermouth (Dolin)
.5oz Amer Picon
1 dash maraschino (Luxardo)

Add all ingredients to a mixing glass. Add ice and stir. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and express some orange oil over the top of the drink.
