Back in the spring of 1972 I was a young Navy guy being trained to be an electronics technician. Stationed at Great Lakes, Illinois, the winter of 1971-1972 was rough. When things thawed in the spring, a couple of buddies and I rented a tent and went camping on the shores of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. I remember my first bottle of wine, the label in this scrapbook photo, mostly for the cork remnants in it. No one thought about bringing a corkscrew! Or a glass!! Destroying the cork with the key to my car was the best I could do.
We’re Here! telling our stories and showing our wine art.
