In Moscow

The Kremlin, viewed from the Ritz Carlton hotel bar

I’m in Moscow, for the first time. I’ll be giving a talk at the Simple Congress tomorrow.

The Bolshoi

I’m very happy to be heree. When I grew up, a big feature in our lives was the cold war. The Soviet Union was seen as the enemy. Travelling here was close to impossible, and, if you did, your every move would be tracked.

So it’s nice to be here contributing to the development of the wine scene here, which is quite exciting.

Simple Wine and Kitchen, where tonight’s pre-conference party was held

We drank quite a bit of this really good trad method Crimean fizz
